The Martian Book vs Movie

Zoe: Hi everyone, hope your week has been great. I thought I would mix things up a bit seeing as we have been doing a lot of reviews, and do a movie vs book post. Today I am comparing The Martian’s book (by Andy Weir), which I read mid-January with the movie (starring Matt Damon) which I watched quite a while ago so sorry if I forget or miss anything. I thought this would be a fun way to look at both the different materials and see which one I personally liked more. (more…)

Every Day by David Levithan

Annike: Hey guys, so today I wanted to review a book I actually read late last year called Every Day by David Levithan. The reason that I started reading this was actually because I saw the trailer on Youtube and thought it looked really interesting – though Goodreads reviews maybe weren’t as promising. All the same, I decided to get it on my computer and give it a try. I have heard many good things about David Levithan but this is my first proper novel of his so that was also a driving factor. I am happy to say that I did really enjoy this book, it was quick and easy while also being extremely intriguing so without further ado, let’s get onto the review. (more…)

I personally can’t wait and hopefully we’ll have something festive up near then, followed by the wrap up of this massive year. But before any of that I wanted to write a review on a book I just recently finished called Still Alice. Uncommonly, this book actually isn’t written for young adults but I found it so intriguing and just had to get my hands on it so here is my review. (more…)

I read the first one in January and did a review on it so make sure to check that out first and here is my review on the second on – A Torch Against the Night. I’ve decided to do a non-spoiler review so if you haven’t read the books it should mostly be ok to read and if you have read it you will probably understand some of the references better!! (more…)
