QUESTIONS:

1, What are your top three favourite book covers?

to-all-the-boys-trilogy.png

This is really hard as I absolutely love to love book covers. If I had to pick 3 I would go with the entire ‘To All the Boy’s I’ve loved before’ series. They are seriously so beautiful just like the books themselves.

2. Which Harry Potter character do you relate to the most?

luna_lovegood_by_ludmila_cera_foce-damhz03.jpg

This one is quite hard but I would say Luna Lovegood. She was always my favourite because she had such a free spirit but I also thought she was really sharp, fearless and loyal and always there throughout the series. I like to think that I am a bit like her:)

3. Favourite reading snack?

I actually don’t eat when I read, so I don’t really know. I might occasionally have like chips or biscuits or an apple, something small to sustain me:)

4. What are your top five favourite authors?

Zoe: This is way to hard to answer. I would go with the obvious J.K Rowling, Kasie West, Jenny Han, Jodi Picoult & Enid Blyton (because I loved Faraway Tree). I’ve probably missed some I really love, these were just the first 5 to come to my head.

5. Have you ever written any fan-fiction?

Zoe: No I haven’t and I don’t generally read any either. I don’t consider myself a good writer so I don’t think I would like it either.

6. What book to you tend to recommend to people the most?

hero_The-Martian-2015.jpg

Zoe: I hardly ever recommend books to people because I always worry they aren’t going to like it. If I had to I would recommend ‘The Martian’ by Andy Weir because I don’t think you can go wrong with it.

7. If you could get any book made into a film/television show, which would it be?

DFSMUIrWAAEZjn2.jpg-large.jpg djhh-oauiaaukeb.jpg

Zoe: I’m actually so excited that ‘To All The Boy’s I’ve Loved Before’ by Jenny Han and ‘The Hate U Give’ by Angie Thomas are both being turned into movies as these were the top 2 on my list!

8. Who’s your no.1 book boyfriend/girlfriend?

tumblr_owlbm3icv31r80kcoo1_r1_500.jpg

Zoe: Probably Peter from ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”. Sorry I know I have mentioned this book a lot in this tag but he is just perfect.

9. What’s your reading goal for 2018? Are you on target so far?

Zoe: My reading goal was 35 books this year because I know I am not going to have a lot of time to read. I read 6 books in January which was a good start but have only read 1 book this month which I know is really bad so I’m going to need to pick up to keep on target.

10. What’s your favourite read of 2018 so far?

Zoe: It is a total tie between ‘The Hate U Give’ by Angie Thomas and ‘The Martian’ by Andy Weir. They were both amazing in their own way.

11. What’s your favourite type of blog posts to make?

Zoe: I would definitely say tags as they are always so different and I love answering questions:)

MY QUESTIONS:

  1. Which is one book remind you of each of the seasons?
  2. What book can you read so many times and never get bored of?
  3. Which song do you relate to your favourite book?
  4. What do you do when you’re in a reading slump?
  5. What is the longest book you have ever read (if you can remember)?
  6. What was the last book you added to your TBR?
  7. What was the last book you gave 5 stars and the last book you gave 1 star?
  8. Which books have you read in one sitting?
  9. Last book you DNF?
  10. How long does it take you to write your blog posts?
  11. What book would you love to be turned into a movie?

How I Choose My Books Tag!

Zoe: Welcome back everyone to Twintales, sorry its been so long. Annike and I thought we would come back and do a tag we were nominated for a little while ago (maybe a long while ago) so sorry about the lateness of this tag but a huge shoutout to Icebreaker for the nomination go and show her some love and follow her amazing blog. Here we go:

Find a book on your shelves or e-reader with a blue cover. What made you want to pick up this book?

upside-of-unrequited.jpg 30226723.jpg

A: I have The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli on my shelf with a blue cover. I have to say the reason I asked for this book and eventually got it was because it was such a popular book and had so much hype at the time! I kind of don’t remember what happens anymore… but I’m pretty sure I liked it.

Z: A blue book on my book shelf is the King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard. The reason I picked this book up is because I loved the previous 2 books and was really excited to see where the story was going to go.

Think of a book you didn’t expect to enjoy, but did. Why did you read it in the first place?

9780143000976.jpg 51CZSawI1sL.jpg

A: Definitely Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta which I read a couple years ago and reread last year. I only really picked it up because it is set in my suburb and was a local author – but I ended up loving it so much!

Z: I would definitely go with Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. Annike kept telling me to read it but I thought it looked bad. She kept persuading me until I finally gave up and decided to read it. I didn’t think I would like it but ended up loving so I am thankful to her now:)

Stand in front of your bookshelf with your eyes closed and pick up a book at random. How did you discover this book?

28458598.jpg 9780330364386.jpg

A: When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. I 100% discovered this book on WordPress after reading like a million posts on it. Again, this book was all the rage a little while ago so I figured I needed to give it a go.

Z: Finding Cassie Crazy by Jaclyn Moriarty. I brought this book from the library when I was in like year 5 and read the whole thing on music camp. I picked this one because I thought it looked really interesting and I really loved it when I read it.

Pick a book that someone personally recommended to you. What did you think of it?

17611937.jpg 28383534.jpg 13138635.jpg

A: Technically this isn’t specific, but my brother always used to recommend Matthew Reilly books to me and last year I listened to his book The Tournament and absolutely adored it. I had no idea I would like ti that much but it was so interesting and definitely memorable.

Z: Annike has recommended me so many books but two books that were recommend by a friend at school were Thanks for the Trouble by Tommy Wallach and These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. I thought they were both really good recommendations and good summer reads.

Pick a book that you discovered through YouTube / book blogs. Did it live up to the hype?

30649795.jpg the-hate-u-give.jpg

A: Umm I have already listed 2 books that I’ve found through WordPress but I think another one from last year was Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner. I had never heard of Jeff Zentner and his other book so Goodbye Days definitely popped up on my WordPress reader, and let me say – it is a beautiful read!

Z: I heard a lot about The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas through book blogs. I was constantly seeing raving reviews on this book and decided to finally pick it up. I was very happy to find out that it did live up the hype and I loved it.

Find a book on your shelves or e-reader with a one-word title. What drew you to this book?

16068905.jpg 36475035.jpg

A: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell!!! AHHH I love this book still even though I got it like 5 years ago. I think what initially drew me to it was the fact that it involved twins but I’ve read it like every year since haha.

Z: Everless by Sara Holland. I was drawn to this book due to the intriguing premise. It looked so amazing and unique, similar to red queen and so full of mystery. I thought it was really good but maybe not up to my exceedingly high expectations.

What book did you discover through a film / TV adaptation?

covers_374114.jpg 18007564.jpg

A: Definitely The 100 by Kass Morgan. The books are very different to the TV series so even though I read the book series second, they didn’t overlap a whole awful lot. Despite that I really like both the original book and the adapted TV show.

Z: Alike Icebreaker I would have to go with The Martian by Andy Weir. I watched the movie back in 2015 and finally read the book a few weeks ago and thought they were both brilliant. It was so original and because I loved the movie I was so happy that I also loved the book and it lived up to the hype.

Think of your all-time favourite book/s. When did you read these and why did you pick them up in the first place?

9780007593262-us-300.jpg 17838528.jpg 0142425834.jpg 14950168.jpg

A: This is so hard! To name a few – An Ember in the Ashes, The Unexpected Everything, The 5th Wave, A Torch Against the Night, How I Lost You and probably a bunch that I have forgotten. They are really a mix I think. I found AEITA, TUE and ATATN on Goodreads and WordPress and the others I picked up randomly and just loved them 🙂

Z: I don’t even think I can pick a favourite book because there are so many amazing books out there which are all so different. I think I generally pick out books that I love due to great ratings and reviews. I love unique books which are both powerful, inspiring and beautifully written.
