Annike: Hey guys, so we were tagged in The Candy Book Tag by Bookneeders a very long time ago, so we’re very sorry it has taken us this long to get to it! However, I do want to say a big thank you to Joana for the tag and definitely check out her blog because she is one of our all time favourite book bloggers with such great content! Now, let’s get onto it 🙂
Apples – Ah. Healthy food. It is deep, meaningful, and probably won a lot of awards but, um, it really isn’t your thing.
Annike: This is kind of perfect for me because I just finished reading The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. I know that this book has soon a ton of different awards and if very famous but it just didn’t work for me and I couldn’t get into it at all.
Zoe: Probably The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald. I thought it was written really well and I have heard such amazing things about it, but I thought it was a bit slow and took me a while to get through.
Milk Chocolate – This is a book you’d recommend to absolutely EVERYONE.
Annike: I am super hesitant to recommend books to anyone because I always worry they won’t like it. But my go to would have to be the Harry Potter series if they haven’t seen that and maybe Fangirl as a YA contemporary because as some of you might know, Fangirl is one of my all time favourite reads!
Zoe: I would have to say Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I know a lot of people don’t like this series but I actually loved the first book and thought it was so unique and different to anything I had read before so would definitely recommend it.
Black Jellybeans – Why do these exist??
Annike: Okay so it might be going a bit far to say that books shouldn’t exist but a book that I really didn’t enjoy that I read last year was Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid. It was just so predictable and cheesy for me so definitely not a favourite.
Zoe: I would say Never Said by Carol Lynch Williams. It was such a weird and strange book that I had no connection to. The characters were unrealistic and the story layout simply left me confused.
Chocolate Kisses – Awww this novel had the best romance.
Annike: Hmm that’s hard. I’d have to choose between Cath and Levi from Fangirl or Andie and Clarke from The Unexpected Everything. They were both very cute. And I’m sure there are many others that I am forgetting.
Zoe: Definitely To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. I know I mention this book a lot in tags but this is just the cutest series ever and Peter and Lara Jean are SO CUTE!!!!
Gummy Spiders – Eek! You made sure to check under your bed every night for a week after reading this scary one.
Annike: Haha I never really read scary books that scare me. But a book that did worry me a little was This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers. It was about a zombie apocalypse and did scare me a little back when I read it.
Zoe: Alike Annike I don’t read many scary books but for this I might say Beautiful Lies by Jessica Warman. I thought the story was so creepy. Its not your typical horror story but it was a mystery. I found the events in the book really creepy and was also super confused.
Jumbo Lollipop – This took you forever to get through, but hey! You did it!
Annike: It took me a very long time to get through City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. Like it literally took me months to finish because I kept kind of ditching it and then coming back. It’s safe to say it was not one of my favourite books.
Zoe: I feel like I am not the kind of person who just waits and reads a book slowly. Actually out of all the books I have read this year, it would probably be Twenty Questions for Gloria by Martin Bedford I only read it for a couple of weeks so not too bad. I tend to ditch books if they are taking me too long.
Cotton Candy – Admit it, you loved this when you were younger (you probably still do). Think children’s or MG fiction.
Annike: I used to LOVE the Sister’s Grimm series by Michael Buckley when I read it back in the day! I still look back on those books with great fondness 🙂
Zoe: As a child I LOVED The Faraway Tree. I thought it was just the best book ever and I wouldn’t even mind re-reading it because I love the creativity behind this story.
Zoe: Thank you so much for reading everyone. Hope you enjoyed reading our answers and if you have read any of the books we mentioned above make sure to tell us in the comments! Thanks, we will be back with another post soon. x
